Why does mom now wnat equal custody?

my room mates obsessed with that show. some people think he only wants the kid so he wont have to pay as much child support, but until he says that himself or anyone has any sort of evidence for that, im giving him the benefit of the doubt. yes, he wasnt around much for the first year of the childs life, but that doesnt mean he couldnt have had a change of heart and is ready to take responsibility. the reason why the mother is so against it is because she wants to move across the state to be with her boyfriend, which i think is kind of selfish. if a father wants to be with his child, the mother should put her childs best interests first and make sure he is able to see his father, moving hours away to be with a boyfriend is not a good choice. besides, shes a teen with a baby, she really shouldnt be moving in with guys shes been dating for a few weeks yet. i agree the child shouldnt be shipped back and forth, he needs a stable home, but every other weekend isnt fair either, that means for every 12 days she gets with him, the father gets 2. i think it shouldnt be changed to every other weekend and then on the weeks that he doesnt get him on the weekend he should have him for a couple days during the week. if the guy is ready to step up and be a dad, why not, its never to late in my opinion.
