What kind of parrot should i get?

Personally, I really like conures. You say you want a colourfull bird, but be careful. Many of the brighter colored birds are not only more expensive, but a pain in the ***. For example, Sun Conures(like their name suggests), are one of the most beautifully colored parrots in my opinion. However, I would never recommend them to someone as a pet. They are incredibly loud and require a lot of attention. In fact, many people end up giving them away because they couldn't handle it. That being said, my favorite Conure is the green-cheeked Conure. It is on the small size as far as most conures, about the size of a atiel, but they make fantastic pets. They are almost entirely green but still very beautiful. They are not as loud as most parrots and they have tons of personality. A lot about choosing a parrot depends on your budget as well. If you are willing to spend a lot of money, then you can get just about any parrot. Google "best parrot pet" and you come up with tons of hits. You should do a lot of research before making your decision.
