PDA & Gmail users... Help me? I bought a MOTO Q9c...?

I bought a MOTO Q9c and i have gmail which i use as my business email. I wanted to set it up so i can recieve a alert or text message telling me i have a new email. How do i do that? Does Gmail offer this? Any help is apperciated!!
