Cervical myelopathy digonisis for following case is right?what will b its tretment.?

If the bulging disc is occuring at c4-5, then why is there abnormal signals and swelling involving a good chunk of the cervical spinal cord. Yes you could develop a cervical myelopathy from this but what is causing the swelling and abnormal signal intensity. Its more then just a slip disk or arthritic changes. Does the patient have some sort of infectious cause, multiple sclerosis, any neck trauma, demyelinating disease, cancer??
